Nathan Curtis is a University of Tennessee graduate, earning a bachelor’s degree in Music Composition / Theory and graduating as top student in the music undergraduate program in 2017. He studied composition, orchestration, and film scoring under Dr. Andrew Sigler. Nathan’s works include both classical and popular genres, using a variety of instrumentations. Works include brass quintet, vibraphone trio, and electric guitar quartet, among other things. Nathan is also an accomplished music engraver.  He studied under Dr. Jorge Variego at the University of Tennessee.  Nathan has done a variety of engraving work, from small pieces to musical examples in a book.  He will take your handwritten music and make it look tidy, professional, publishable, and easy to read for performers.  He is currently accepting engraving work.  If you are interested in having a piece of yours engraved, please send Nathan an email through the Contact page.

Nathan has been playing guitar since the summer of 2008.  He studied music theory and guitar technique under Dave Cross of Rising Star Guitar Academy in Karns, Tennessee.  Nathan has performed in many ensembles with his guitar, including worship groups, guitar ensembles (both classical and jazz), Hardin Valley Thunder (bluegrass), and even once in the UTK Balinese Gamelan. 

From January of 2020 through August of 2021, Nathan worked as the Co-Music Director at St. Matthias United Methodist Church in Fredericksburg, VA.  There he directed the choir, planned the musical aspects of worship services, and was an alternate in the St. Matthias Ringers bell choir.
